ATF, NSSF Offer Reward in Gun Store Burglary

ATF and the Firearms Industry Seek Public’s Help in Firearms Theft From Mississippi Federal Firearm Licensee

NEW ORLEANS — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives New Orleans Field Division, in conjunction with the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), today announced a combined reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the persons who participated in the burglary of a gun store in Southaven, Mississippi.

ATF New Orleans is offering a reward of up to $2,500, which will be matched by the NSSF of up to $2,500, for a total reward of up to $5,000.

On June 25, 2023, Dabbs Gun and Pawn, a federal firearm licensee (FFL), located at 7957 US Highway 51, in Southaven, MS at approximately 4 a.m., was burglarized by six unknown suspects. Multiple firearms were stolen. The suspects exited the building and fled in an unknown direction.

This total reward of $5,000 is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the ATF and NSSF, in which NSSF matches ATF’s reward in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearms retailers.

“ATF is committed to working with our law enforcement partners to apprehend the suspects responsible for this crime before they commit any more crimes,” said ATF Special Agent in Charge Joshua Jackson. “ATF’s Crime Gun Intelligence, in conjunction with other investigative resources, will also be used to recover the stolen firearms.”

The ATF’s Oxford Field Office, Little Rock Field Office and Memphis Field Office are jointly investigating this crime. Agents from Industry Operations are also assisting. The investigation continues.

Anyone with any information about this crime should contact ATF at 888-ATF-TIPS (283-8477), the ATF Oxford Field Office at 662-513-2140, the Little Rock Field Office at 501-324-6181, or the Memphis Field Office at 901-334-5660.
